UpcomingReally buzzing about our next two shows, so thought I'd post a quick reminder about them:
Mudboy + The A Band + Slow Listener23rd May 2009 Cafe Oto, Ashwin St, Dalston 8pm / £6Burial Hex + Saturn Finger + Kinit Her16th June 2009 Cafe Oto, Ashwin St, Dalston 8pm / £6Tickets at www.wegottickets.com/colourride
Mudboy's first ever UK tour and thus first ever London show. Also a rare show for UK free music legends
The A Band - no idea who will actually be in the band yet.
Slow Listener's magical dronal swathings are worth getting there on time for.
Burial Hex is Clay Ruby, one of the best noise artists in world at the moment, who will actually be playing in a more-ambient-than-usual mindset to compliment the settings of Cafe Oto. Saturn Finger is a new project from France and Finland featuring Jani of
Uton - expect psychy freak folk directions.
Kinit Her are from Wisconsin, USA (as is Burial Hex) and play a captivating mixture of eastern European folk, black metal washes, witches' croons and sonic manipulations.

DistroJust sold out of copies of the brilliant Electric Annihilation zine - waiting for a new batch to be delivered. Will also have copies of DNT Records' (the guys who did the EA zine) newest tape from Sean McCann for sale in the distro soon. Some other stuff should arrive soon, but the plan is to keep it very limited. If you're a label/band and want us to stock your stuff, drop me a line at paperhead [at] gmail [dot] com and we'll see what's possible. We sell both online and at our London shows.

Space Age City: The Colour Ride All-Dayer 2009Details of our annual all-day celebration have been tentatively released. I'm seriously excited this year -
Stellar Om Source and
El-G will be travelling across lands and seas to perform, with
Jazzfinger,
Mutant Ape, and
KK/KK crossing various stretches of the UK to be there too. More to be announced - some exciting names to be announced soon. It's on 15th August at The Windmill, Brixton.
This year's event has developed - this is the third year I've put this on and with each one I try to make it an extra-special occasion, not just in terms of the live acts but the other stuff too. That other stuff this year includes the free BBQ, free tapes for early-comers (featuring most/all of the artists playing) and a temporary record store in the outside garage bit (featuring a Second Layer stall + more tbc - get in touch if you'd like to be involved in that).
It's called Space Age City because it fits the poster. I guess it's a nice name too. It's good to name things.
